A Pair of China Trade Port Paintings.
Depicting the Hongs at Canton Ca. 1832 to 1835, and the Anchorage at Whampoa Reach. The image of the Hongs depicts the Hongs, of the foreign Merchants in Canton with French, US, British and Dutch flags flying in front of their respective Hongs, and shows the hustle and bustle, of the waterfront with numerous san pans, loading and carrying goods to be loaded, into the ships waiting at Whampoa. The image of the Anchorage at Whampoa depicts, American, British Dutch and French ships, waiting for their cargos. The nine stage pagoda is in the background.
