Matched Set of Four George III Silver Candlesticks
|
A Great Matched set of Four George III Silver Candlesticks.
This set consists of 2 Pair, one made by John Cafe in 1752-3, and the other by his son William Cafe in 1756-7. This was often done, as a family prospered, they would purchase a second set, from the same maker, or in this case his son, to make a set of four. |
There are only very minor differences,
between the pairs. The most noticeable is the engraved crest, on the base of the John Cafe sticks. The sticks are 9 inches tall and of the best design, with the 6 lobe base. |
