This Woolie of an English Ship shows the transition in ship building as steam propulsion was emerging as the dominant technology.
Note the smoke stack or funnel for the steam engine amidships and yet the ship carries a full set of sails in case the engine dies. Nice condition and matted in a gold lined birdseye maple frame. Measuring 14.5" by 10.5" sight and 21' by 24.5' overall. Ca 1865 to 85. |
